Underlord vs Death Prophet

How this matchup plays

Pushing into Underlord is often awkward for Death Prophet. Her entire game plan with Exorcism revolves around running at enemies and objectives, but his spells make that very difficult. A well-placed Pit of Malice can stop her advance entirely, rooting her in place while Firestorm burns her down. She needs mobility and uptime to make her ultimate effective, and Underlord directly counters this by being a durable wall of area control. He is also naturally tanky enough to survive her Spirit Siphon drains and wait out the Exorcism duration.

This pattern usually defines their mid-game interactions. When Death Prophet wants to use her long cooldown to secure a tower, Underlord can stall the push almost by himself, making the area too dangerous to stand in. This can force her team to back off, wasting the ultimate, or commit to a bad fight under his spells. While a coordinated team can still play around this, perhaps by silencing him first, his basic kit naturally makes Death Prophet's signature move much less reliable for taking control of the map.
