Underlord vs Dragon Knight

How this matchup plays

Playing as Dragon Knight into an Underlord feels like trying to run through mud. You want to be a frontline tank that walks at the enemy and stuns a key target, but Pit of Malice constantly locks you down. This usually happens right under a Firestorm, forcing you to absorb a lot of damage for standing still. Even when you can connect, Underlord's Atrophy Aura saps your right-click damage, making you less of a threat than you should be. He doesn’t have the burst to kill you quickly, but he makes it very hard for you to do your job.

This pattern continues into the mid and late game teamfights. Underlord effectively dictates where Dragon Knight can and can't go. A well-placed Pit can completely zone Dragon Knight out of a fight or stop his initiation cold, especially when he's a big target in Elder Dragon Form. Dragon Knight's main response is to get a Black King Bar to ignore the root, but that forces a big commitment. Underlord is happy to trade his basic spells for DK's ultimate and BKB, creating space for his own cores to operate freely.
