Underlord vs Earthshaker

How this matchup plays

Controlling a teamfight often comes down to which hero sets the tempo. Earthshaker can initiate on Underlord with a Fissure, but Underlord is so tanky that he often survives the initial burst. While he's stunned, his Firestorm can still be raining down on Earthshaker's team. Atrophy Aura also cuts into the damage from an Enchant Totem follow-up, weakening the combo. This creates a standoff where Earthshaker's lockdown isn't as decisive as he'd like, and Underlord's area control is temporarily interrupted but not fully stopped.

The lane can go either way. A well-placed Fissure can trap Underlord for a kill, but he's equally capable of shoving the wave under tower with Firestorm, making Earthshaker's life difficult. Later on, the game becomes about fight positioning. Earthshaker is always looking for that perfect Blink-Echo Slam on a clumped-up team, a scenario Underlord sometimes encourages by grouping his allies. But Underlord can also use Fiend's Gate to spread the map and deny Earthshaker the big teamfight he wants. Victory usually depends on which team better enables their hero's plan.
