Underlord vs Hoodwink

How this matchup plays

Trying to kite Underlord as Hoodwink seems simple on paper, but it rarely plays out cleanly. The main problem is that Underlord's Firestorm will consistently burn down the trees Hoodwink needs to land a good Bushwhack or escape with Scurry. This forces her to play from much farther away, reducing her threat. On the other hand, Underlord has almost no way to force a fight on her. His Pit of Malice is easy for a mobile hero to avoid, and her long-range damage is more of an annoyance to him than a real danger, thanks to his innate tankiness and damage reduction.

This dynamic leads to a standoff where neither hero really wants to interact with the other. Underlord is content to push lanes and control teamfight areas, while Hoodwink stays on the fringes looking for a better target. If Underlord ever does manage to catch her out of position, she dies, but actually catching her is the entire challenge. If she gets to free-cast on him, he doesn't care much. The game is usually decided by how their teammates perform, not by who wins this specific head-to-head.
