Underlord vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Controlling the tempo of a fight against Pangolier often comes down to restricting his movement. Underlord's Pit of Malice provides a persistent area of control that can interrupt Swashbuckle and pin Pangolier down. While a quick Pangolier can sometimes dodge it or use Rolling Thunder to get through, the threat alone forces him to reposition or use his ultimate defensively. Atrophy Aura further complicates things by reducing the physical damage from Pangolier's attacks, making it more difficult for him to burst down a target before he gets caught. This dampens his effectiveness in skirmishes.

This dynamic often pushes Pangolier away from the lanes Underlord is controlling. Underlord can safely apply pressure with Firestorm, forcing rotations and creating space for his own team. Pangolier has to look for opportunities on the other side of the map or wait for Underlord to commit his spells before he can engage effectively. If Pangolier falls behind, he struggles to cut through the tankiness Underlord provides his team. However, a successful gank from an early-game Pangolier can still swing the tempo before Underlord establishes his dominant map presence, keeping the matchup from being one-sided.
