Underlord vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Picking a durable frontliner into a Silencer often comes down to how much that hero needs to cast spells. Underlord lives by his area-of-effect abilities, using Firestorm and Pit of Malice to control fights. This plays directly into Silencer's hands, as Arcane Curse punishes heroes who need to cast repeatedly. However, Underlord is inherently tanky and builds items that make him even tougher to kill. While Silencer can make his life annoying, he struggles to actually burst Underlord down before the big demon can get his spells off or simply walk away. This creates a lane where neither hero can easily secure a kill on the other.

The matchup often boils down to a battle of key ultimates. A well-timed Global Silence can completely shut down a team rotation through Fiend's Gate, leaving Underlord's team split and vulnerable.
