Underlord vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Hitting an Underlord as Wraith King feels frustrating. Atrophy Aura immediately cuts your right-click damage, and your skeletons get wiped out by Firestorm. It's also hard to chase anyone down when you keep getting rooted by Pit of Malice. On the flip side, Underlord really struggles to kill you. He doesn't have the burst to chew through your health pool and Reincarnation. Wraith King is often happy to stand in the fire and slowly grind down whatever he can reach, because he knows he's not in danger of dying quickly.

This standoff defines the matchup from the lane onwards. Early on, neither hero can really force the other out. Later, it all comes down to what the other heroes on each team can provide. If Underlord's allies bring the damage, they can use his control from Pit of Malice to kite and kill Wraith King. But if Wraith King's team provides lockdown, his raw durability and second life will eventually wear Underlord's side down in a drawn-out teamfight. It's a classic battle of attrition versus control.
