Underlord vs Skywrath Mage

How this matchup plays

Picking Underlord into a Skywrath Mage means betting on survivability over aggression. Underlord's natural tankiness and tendency to build items that reduce spell damage make him difficult for Skywrath to burst down. Atrophy Aura also chips away at the mage's damage output over the course of a fight. On the other hand, Skywrath Mage has the perfect tool to shut Underlord down. A well-timed Ancient Seal prevents Underlord from using Pit of Malice or his ultimate to escape, leaving the durable hero silenced and vulnerable to follow-up from Skywrath's team.

The matchup often comes down to positioning and initiative.
