Underlord vs Sven

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a target with God's Strength often feels frustrating when an enemy Underlord is nearby. His Atrophy Aura directly reduces Sven's physical damage, which can be enough to let a teammate survive the initial Storm Hammer combo. On top of that, Firestorm and Pit of Malice create zones of control that make it difficult for Sven to stand his ground and connect hits on his preferred target. Underlord excels at making Sven’s active burst window much less effective and turning the fight into a drawn-out brawl that Sven doesn't want.

The outcome of a fight really depends on item timings and positioning. If Sven gets caught without spell immunity, he can be kited and whittled down while his ultimate is active. Once Sven gets his BKB, however, he can often ignore Underlord’s spells entirely, run straight at a priority target, and secure a kill before Atrophy Aura’s reduction matters. The matchup becomes a question of who gets the jump: does Underlord’s team kite a BKB-less Sven, or does a farmed Sven find an opening to bypass Underlord’s control and end the fight quickly.
