Underlord vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Trying to trade hits in the lane as Ursa can feel miserable. Underlord's Atrophy Aura directly reduces the physical damage that Ursa relies on to stack Fury Swipes and bully opponents. This makes it very difficult for him to win trades or even secure last hits comfortably. If Ursa does try to commit to an attack, Underlord can simply drop a Pit of Malice to root him and walk away, or hold him in place for his own team to collapse. The fundamental tools Underlord has are excellent for blunting a simple, physical-damage hero.

The dynamic shifts once Ursa gets his key items. His goal is not to fight Underlord head-on, but to get a Blink Dagger and BKB to hunt Underlord's more fragile teammates. Ursa can often take Roshan early and use that advantage to create pressure that Underlord can't respond to alone. The game then becomes a race: can Ursa snowball his team with pickoffs before Underlord can group his team and force fights in his favor? The outcome depends entirely on which hero's strategy dictates the pace of the mid-game.
