Alchemist vs Centaur Warrunner

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down an Alchemist can feel frustrating for a Centaur Warrunner. Centaur relies on his massive health pool to soak damage, but Acid Spray cuts right through his naturally low armor, making him much softer than he appears. While Centaur's own burst from Hoof Stomp and Double Edge is respectable, Alchemist's regeneration from Chemical Rage often allows him to survive the initial combo and simply heal through the follow-up. Retaliate doesn't pose a huge threat either, as Chemical Rage's healing can outpace the return damage during a fight.

The game then becomes a race against the clock. Centaur Warrunner wants to leverage Stampede to force early fights and shut Alchemist down before he can accumulate his key items. A successful gank can certainly delay Alchemist's timing. However, if Alchemist is given any space to farm, he accelerates far ahead in net worth. He eventually reaches a point where he can stand his ground or even initiate onto Centaur, whose tankiness is no longer enough to withstand Alchemist's sustained, armor-shredding physical damage.
