Alchemist vs Skywrath Mage

How this matchup plays

Picking Alchemist into a Skywrath Mage is a calculated risk. Skywrath's constant magical harass with Arcane Bolt makes laning difficult, and his silence can prevent Alchemist from activating Chemical Rage to escape a gank. A well-timed Mystic Flare on a stunned Alchemist is usually lethal before he has any major items. This pressure forces Alchemist to play much more cautiously than he might want to, slowing down his early farm progression and making him reliant on his team for space.

Alchemist’s primary advantage, however, is how quickly he can solve this problem. Greevil's Greed lets him accelerate towards a Black King Bar or other defensive items that completely neutralize Skywrath's threat. As soon as Alchemist can activate magic immunity, Skywrath Mage struggles to contribute anything in a fight against him. The outcome often depends on whether Skywrath’s team can capitalize on their early magical advantage before Alchemist's accelerated farm makes him too resilient to burst down.
