Alchemist vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map's tempo is hard for Alchemist in this matchup. His entire game is about getting ahead in farm, but Slardar is built to punish greedy heroes who need space. The main issue is Corrosive Haze. It shreds armor, which is exactly what Alchemist lacks. Even with Chemical Rage active, the massive health regeneration doesn't matter as much when Slardar and his allies' physical attacks hit so hard. This makes Alchemist extremely vulnerable when trying to farm the jungle or push out lanes, as Slardar can often find a kill before the Unstable Concoction is even fully charged.

This dynamic forces the Alchemist to play much more cautiously, often hugging his towers and avoiding aggressive farming patterns that would otherwise accelerate his game. Any time he shows on a lane to clear a wave, it’s an invitation for Slardar to sprint in and start a fight. Alchemist’s team has to invest heavily in vision and protection to secure his farm, while Slardar's team can use that pressure to take objectives elsewhere. The game often comes down to whether Alchemist can get his core items online before Slardar's constant aggression breaks the map open.
