Expecting Spirit Breaker to shut down a greedy pick is a common thought, but Alchemist has the tools to survive. A solo Charge of Darkness often isn't enough to kill an Alchemist who has Chemical Rage active. The massive health regeneration and bonus speed can let him endure the initial lockdown and turn the fight, especially if he lands Unstable Concoction. To secure a kill, Spirit Breaker really needs coordinated follow-up damage from his team, or he risks being the one who dies after charging into a pool of Acid Spray.

The matchup becomes a race against the clock. Early on, Spirit Breaker can apply a lot of pressure, forcing Alchemist to play safer and delaying his core items. This is the main window to punish the pick. If that pressure doesn't create a significant lead, Alchemist's accelerated farm takes over.
