Alchemist vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Farming the map against a Techies is a constant risk. Alchemist needs to be everywhere to maximize Greevil's Greed, but Techies turns every jungle camp and pathway into a potential death trap with Proximity Mines. This forces the Alchemist to either play slowly and cautiously or invest heavily in detection, both of which cut into the rapid farm that makes the hero strong. On the other hand, a farmed Alchemist with Chemical Rage has massive health regeneration, allowing him to tank through a surprising amount of mine damage that would instantly kill more fragile heroes. This makes him uniquely resilient to the typical Techies attrition game.

The outcome often depends on the first half of the game. If Techies and his team can successfully pressure Alchemist, picking him off with Blast Off! and slowing his item progression, they can control the map and starve him out. Alchemist's goal is to survive this early aggression, get his core items online, and then start grouping with his team. Once he's tanky enough, he can lead the charge, using his regeneration to walk through minefields and force fights. The game becomes a race between Techies locking down the map and Alchemist getting too big to be contained.
