Alchemist vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Choosing a hero who needs to snowball with early kills against one who farms faster than anyone is a tough position to be in. Ursa is built to run at targets and burst them down with Fury Swipes, but Alchemist's whole game is about surviving aggression until he's too rich to handle. Even if Ursa gets on top of him, Chemical Rage provides so much regeneration that it can negate a lot of the initial burst. Meanwhile, Acid Spray reduces armor, making Ursa surprisingly fragile if he tries to stand his ground and fight.

The result is a race against the clock for Ursa. He has a small window to gank Alchemist before that first big item or level six, often with help. If he fails to shut down the farm, Alchemist quickly gets an item lead that's hard to overcome. Alchemist can build items that make him even harder to kill, like an early Assault Cuirass, while Ursa is still trying to finish his Blink Dagger. The game plan for Alchemist is simple: survive, and you'll probably win the resource war.
