Batrider vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Pulling a Necrophos with Flaming Lasso often feels like a trap. The idea is to isolate and burst him, but his kit is built to survive that exact scenario. Once pulled, he can use Ghost Shroud, making him immune to the physical damage from your allies that's meant to finish the kill. While in Shroud, he can heal through Batrider's magic damage with his own spells. The whole time, Heartstopper Aura is ticking away at Batrider, who is forced to stay close for the full channel. What should be a pickoff turns into a bad trade where the initiator takes more damage than the target.

This pattern makes the mid-game incredibly difficult for the Batrider's team. Their primary tool for creating an advantage is not only nullified but actively punished. Each failed gank on Necrophos gives him more space and control. Batrider is forced into a tough spot: either ignore the high-value target and try to go on someone else, or wait for a perfect moment when Ghost Shroud is down, which rarely happens. This allows the Necrophos team to dictate the pace of the game, grouping up and taking objectives while Batrider struggles to find a meaningful initiation.
