Picking Batrider into an opponent's Techies often requires rethinking your entire game plan. The core of Batrider's threat, Flaming Lasso, forces him to drag a target along a predictable path for several seconds. This plays directly into Techies' hands, who excels at punishing enemies moving through controlled space. An attempted Lasso initiation can easily turn disastrous by pulling the target, or Batrider himself, over a stack of Proximity Mines. Even if the path is clear, Techies can use Blast Off to silence and disrupt the initiation before it even gets going, or use Sticky Bomb to slow Batrider and make the drag ineffective.

This dynamic cripples Batrider's ability to set the tempo during the mid-game. Instead of aggressively seeking pickoffs with smoke ganks, he's forced to play cautiously, knowing that key jungle paths and objectives are likely mined. The responsibility falls on Batrider and his team to constantly de-mine areas before making a move, slowing the game down to a crawl where Techies thrives. A successful Lasso feels less like a guaranteed kill and more like a gamble. The Batrider is forced into a reactive and careful posture, which fundamentally undermines what the hero is picked to do.
