Batrider vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Trying to Lasso Tidehunter is often a disaster. His Kraken Shell will almost always dispel the leash as soon as your team tries to focus him, leaving Batrider stranded with his ultimate on cooldown. This single interaction dismantles Batrider's primary game plan before it even gets started. Even if Batrider tries to stack Napalm on other targets, Tidehunter’s Anchor Smash reduces his damage output, making it much harder to secure the burst kills he relies on to win fights.

Throughout the game, this lets Tidehunter play aggressively, using his body to shield his allies without fear of being pulled out of position. Batrider is forced to look for perfect, isolated targets, a much harder task when Tide can counter-initiate with Ravage at any moment. While the two heroes can set up kills well together, when opposed, Tidehunter’s defensive abilities completely shut down Batrider's aggressive, single-target initiation. Batrider has to hope for a pickoff on a support who is far away from their team, while Tidehunter can simply stand with his allies and negate the threat.
