Bloodseeker vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Thinking Bloodseeker's Thirst automatically counters a hero who likes to sit at low health is a common trap. Necrophos is perfectly comfortable fighting while he's hurt, and he has the ideal tool to punish a dive. When Bloodseeker goes in for the kill, Necrophos can simply use Ghost Shroud to negate all the physical attack damage. During that time, he can heal up with Death Pulse and let Heartstopper Aura wear Bloodseeker down. This turns what should be Bloodseeker's ideal scenario—a low-health target—into a dangerous bait.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Bloodseeker to play carefully. He can't blindly commit on Necrophos without first baiting out the Ghost Shroud or having a way to deal magic damage. A well-timed Blood Rite silence becomes more important than usual. Necrophos, meanwhile, can often survive a Rupture by standing his ground, healing, and forcing Bloodseeker to take a bad fight. For Bloodseeker to get ahead, he often needs to itemize specifically for this matchup or rely on his team to lock down Necrophos before he can get his spells off.
