Bloodseeker vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Fighting a Tidehunter can be frustrating because he's so hard to kill, but Rupture creates a real dilemma for him. A Tidehunter's job is to get in the middle of the fight and use Ravage, and Rupture stops him from doing that without taking a ton of damage. He's forced to stand still, making his initiation much weaker. Blood Rite's silence can also delay that key Ravage, buying your team precious time. However, Tidehunter's natural tankiness from his large health pool and Kraken Shell means he can sometimes endure the damage and dispel the silence, making him a tough nut to crack.

The outcome often depends on which hero gets the jump. If Bloodseeker can catch Tidehunter out of position with a Rupture before a fight begins, he effectively removes the enemy's biggest teamfight spell from the equation. On the other hand, if Tidehunter anticipates Bloodseeker's aggression and lands a pre-emptive Ravage, the fight can swing in the other direction. Bloodseeker relies on his high mobility from Thirst to clean up, and getting stunned for that long is usually a death sentence. The whole matchup is a cat-and-mouse game of initiation versus counter-initiation.
