Bounty Hunter vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Drafting Lina often means accepting the risk of getting picked off, and Bounty Hunter embodies that risk. He specializes in finding and staying on vulnerable targets. A Track on Lina makes it incredibly difficult for her to position safely in fights or even when farming, since her location is constantly revealed to the enemy team. She lacks a natural escape ability, so once a slow from Jinada lands, she's usually forced to try and turn and fight a hero who excels in short, aggressive trades. Her high damage output is her main defense, but it can be hard to pull off a full combo when caught by surprise.

The game becomes a contest of vision control. Lina's side must invest heavily in Sentry Wards and Dust of Appearance to give her breathing room, which cuts into their own economy while Bounty Hunter is generating extra gold from kills for his team. If he can't secure those early pickoffs, however, Lina's superior farming speed allows her to build items like a Force Staff to nullify his initiations. In later teamfights, a farmed Lina can often delete Bounty Hunter before he makes an impact, which keeps this matchup from becoming too one-sided.
