Bounty Hunter vs Nyx Assassin

How this matchup plays

Finding pickoffs becomes a tricky business for both of these heroes. Bounty Hunter has a natural solution for a lurking Nyx Assassin; a successful Track can reveal him and completely ruin his initiation. On the flip side, trying to burst Nyx is a huge risk for Bounty Hunter. A well-timed Spiked Carapace can reflect Shuriken Toss or a Jinada hit, stunning and damaging Bounty Hunter in the middle of his own attack. This interaction often results in a standoff, where neither hero wants to be the first to commit their spells on the other.

The game then shifts into a vision war, centered around which team can better enable their scout. A sentry ward or a cloud of dust decides these skirmishes more than the heroes themselves. The pressure they exert on the map feels mirrored. When Nyx Assassin is missing, the enemy supports are scared. When Bounty Hunter is missing, the same is true. Ultimately, the duel between them is often a distraction from their real job: ganking the other, more vulnerable heroes on the map.
