Bounty Hunter vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map feels harder for Bounty Hunter in this matchup. Techies can litter common roaming paths with Proximity Mines, which grant vision and can break Shadow Walk from a safe distance. This constant threat of being revealed makes it difficult for Bounty Hunter to scout safely or set up surprise ganks with his team. A well-timed Blast Off! is also a major problem, as the area-of-effect silence can prevent him from using Track on a dying enemy or escaping a bad situation. It disrupts his core loop of finding isolated targets and creating a gold lead.

As the game progresses, this forces Bounty Hunter to spend his early resources on detection to clear his own gank paths, slowing down his item timing. Fights around objectives are also tougher, as a defensive Techies setup makes it risky to get close for vision. The best way for Bounty Hunter to fight back is to coordinate with his team, using a Gem of True Sight to de-mine and then using Track to hunt the Techies himself. It becomes a game of vision control, but one where Techies has an inherent, if small, advantage.
