Bounty Hunter vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Finding an opening for a solo kill is central to Bounty Hunter's game, but Tidehunter is a uniquely frustrating target. The physical burst damage from an invis-Jinada attack is significantly softened by Kraken Shell, which strips away debuffs and shrugs off damage. This allows Tidehunter to easily survive Bounty Hunter’s initial assault and retaliate with his own slows and stuns, often forcing the gank to be abandoned. Because BH can't threaten a quick kill on him, Tide is free from the pressure that a roaming hero normally creates.

This dynamic forces Bounty Hunter to avoid Tidehunter entirely and hunt for his teammates instead. While this can work, it leaves Tidehunter free to dictate the pace of the game for his own team. He can push out lanes, create space, and position for a fight without worrying about being picked off beforehand. Bounty Hunter's team loses a primary target for their ganks, while Tidehunter's team gains a very safe anchor who can reliably initiate a big teamfight with Ravage when he is ready.
