Bristleback vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Duel is a disaster for Bristleback. His entire defensive plan revolves around showing his back to the enemy, but Duel forces him to turn and face Legion Commander, completely negating his passive damage reduction. He has to take her full right-click damage and any Moment of Courage procs on his unprotected front. To make it worse, Legion Commander can use Press the Attack to instantly purge all the slows and armor reduction from Viscous Nasal Goo, removing any chance for Bristleback to kite or escape once she initiates on him.

This dynamic makes Bristleback a primary source of Duel damage throughout the game. He wants to be an aggressive frontliner who wades into the enemy team, but this behavior makes him an easy and predictable target for Legion Commander to jump on. Instead of creating space, he often ends up feeding permanent damage and giving away a huge advantage. This forces the Bristleback player into a difficult position: either build items solely to survive the lockdown, or play much more passively, which undermines his entire role on the team.
