Bristleback vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Choosing Lina is often about deleting a key enemy hero from the fight before it even begins. Her spell combination, especially Laguna Blade, is designed for immense single-target burst. Bristleback, however, is built to absorb exactly this kind of attention. By turning his back, he can mitigate a large part of her combo, forcing her to expend long cooldowns for a kill she may not even secure. This interaction makes him a frustrating target, as he is one of the few heroes who can shrug off an attack that would normally remove someone from the map.

Throughout the game, the Lina player has to be very careful about target selection. Using her ultimate on Bristleback is frequently a mistake, leaving her without her primary weapon while he continues to build up Quill Spray stacks on her team. A smart Lina will try to ignore him and focus on his supports, but this allows Bristleback to run freely through the fight. He pressures her into making an uncomfortable choice: either waste her most powerful spell on a hero designed to tank it, or let that same hero rampage through her backline.
