Bristleback vs Marci

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a core with Unleash is central to Marci's game plan, but Bristleback is built to punish that exact approach. When Marci commits her ultimate, she has to stand and fight, which gives Bristleback ample time to stack Quill Sprays on her. If she's hitting his back, her physical damage is severely cut down. Even using Dispose to throw him can backfire, as it might simply present his protected backside to her again. He effectively punishes her for doing what she wants to do.

Throughout the game, this puts the burden on Marci to play perfectly. Her best move is often to ignore Bristleback entirely and try to find a support in the back, but he's a frontline hero designed to get in the way and make that difficult. Alternatively, she can use her abilities to isolate and turn Bristleback for her team to focus, but this requires good coordination. More often, Bristleback can simply run at her team, forcing Marci into a fight where her main damage source is ineffective against the most immediate threat.
