Bristleback vs Mirana

How this matchup plays

Targeting Bristleback with magic damage is the standard approach, and Mirana can certainly contribute with Starstorm. The issue is that her burst alone is rarely enough to secure a kill. Bristleback is built to survive an initial onslaught and then turn the fight with sustained damage as he gets going. While a well-timed Sacred Arrow can set him up, he's often tanky enough to walk away from the follow-up damage unless Mirana's entire team is immediately present and able to chain their lockdown and damage perfectly on him.

Throughout the game, this dynamic means neither hero feels particularly threatened by the other. A smart Mirana will save her Arrow and burst for a squishier target that she can actually kill, rather than emptying her mana on the enemy frontliner. Bristleback, in turn, has a hard time sticking to a target with an escape like Leap. Both heroes simply find that their abilities are more effective when used against other members of the enemy team, resulting in a matchup where they mostly ignore each other.
