Bristleback vs Primal Beast

How this matchup plays

A teamfight breaks out and Primal Beast charges straight for Bristleback. Once he lands Pulverize, Bristleback is completely helpless. The long stun gives everyone time to reposition and hit him from the front, ignoring his damage reduction. Even without his ultimate, Primal Beast’s Trample deals magic damage that eats through Bristleback's health regardless of which way he's facing. Uproar also grants Primal a ton of armor, making it very difficult for Bristleback to bring him down with physical damage from Quills or right-clicks. The whole kit lines up perfectly to shut down what Bristleback wants to do.

This dynamic makes the mid-game incredibly difficult for Bristleback. Primal Beast will look for you constantly, as you're his ideal target to initiate on. Your main goal is to position far in the backline and bait out Pulverize on a different core before you fully commit to a fight. If he can't get the jump on you, you can still be effective against his teammates, but it requires much more cautious play than usual. You’re forced to be reactive and can’t be the frontline initiator your team might expect.
