Bristleback vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Catching Bristleback with Power Cogs is Clockwerk's main plan. The trap forces Bristleback to face forward, exposing him to full damage and bypassing his passive defenses. This creates a kill window, especially with teammates nearby to provide burst. The entire interaction hinges on whether that burst is enough. If Bristleback survives the initial lockdown, the situation flips completely. Clockwerk is now stuck next to an angry, stacked-up target who can easily run him down with Quill Sprays. Clockwerk provides the perfect stationary target for Bristleback to build Warpath stacks on once the initial control wears off.

This dynamic makes teamfights a constant coin flip. A well-executed Hookshot and Cog combo on Bristleback can remove the enemy frontliner and open up the map for Clockwerk's team. A failed attempt, however, usually means Clockwerk dies for free and the ensuing fight is played against a fully enabled Bristleback. It comes down to which team has the better follow-up damage and coordination. As the game progresses, Bristleback’s raw durability often outscales Clockwerk's control, forcing Clockwerk to either find a different target or hope his allies can handle the pig themselves.
