Centaur Warrunner vs Chaos Knight

How this matchup plays

Facing a Centaur Warrunner often makes physical carries hesitate, and Chaos Knight is no exception. CK’s damage comes from swarming a target with Phantasm illusions, but Centaur’s Retaliate ability directly punishes this. Each illusion that attacks Centaur takes significant damage back, thinning the herd much faster than Chaos Knight would like. This fundamentally disrupts CK’s plan to brute-force a single hero, as his own damage source evaporates by hitting the wrong target.

This standoff defines the matchup. Chaos Knight has to play smarter, using Reality Rift to pull in a squishier hero on the edge of the fight instead of charging the frontline. Centaur, in turn, acts as a living shield for his team, daring CK to engage. A well-timed Stampede can reset a fight CK thought he had won, while a good Chaos Bolt on a support can end the fight before Centaur's passive has a major impact. It comes down to which hero can better dictate the target of the engagement.
