Centaur Warrunner vs Hoodwink

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a Centaur Warrunner often ends poorly for Hoodwink. Her combination of spells and attacks usually isn't enough to bring him down before he can react. Centaur's massive health pool allows him to absorb her damage, and Retaliate makes trading right-clicks painful for a low-health hero. Once he closes the gap, his own Hoof Stomp and Double Edge combo can take Hoodwink from full health to zero very quickly. Her natural fragility is a major liability against his straightforward, high-damage initiation.

Throughout the game, this forces Hoodwink into a defensive posture. While she can use Scurry to kite through trees and try to land a Bushwhack, a Centaur with a Blink Dagger can easily bypass this careful positioning. He doesn't need to chase her through the woods; he can simply appear on top of her and land his stun. Her contribution to teamfights is limited by the constant threat of him charging in with Stampede. She has tools to potentially outplay him, but the burden of execution is on her, giving Centaur a consistent, if small, advantage.
