How this matchup plays

Picking a control hero who relies on slows and damage over time can feel risky, and Centaur Warrunner is a big reason why. Jakiro wants to kite enemies and burn them down slowly with spells like Dual Breath and Macropyre. Centaur’s kit is built to nullify that entire strategy. Stampede allows his whole team to close the gap instantly, running right through Jakiro's fields of fire and ice while taking reduced damage. A hero built around sustained damage and slows struggles against an initiator who can ignore the slows and has the raw health pool to absorb the damage.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Jakiro onto the back foot. In lane, Centaur can often absorb the harassment and threaten to run Jakiro down. In teamfights, the Centaur team dictates the engagement. They wait for a good moment and then use Stampede to charge a target, often before Jakiro can position himself to land a perfect Ice Path. Jakiro is most effective when a fight is drawn out in a fixed location, but Centaur’s whole purpose is to make fights happen suddenly and decisively. This constant pressure means Jakiro often can't contribute as much as he needs to.
