Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Legion Commander wins the Centaur Warrunner vs Legion Commander matchup: Legion Commander beats Centaur Warrunner in 53.04% of 45,056 ranked matches.
Dueling Centaur Warrunner directly feels like a bad idea. His high health and Retaliate ability punish attackers, and any smart Legion Commander will avoid targeting him. The real threat comes from her ability to ignore Centaur completely. Legion Commander's goal isn't to fight the tank; it's to use Duel to pick off a key support or a damage dealer standing near him. His passive damage doesn't matter when he isn't the one being dueled, making his kit less of a direct counter than it first appears.
The entire game revolves around this dynamic. Centaur is forced into a purely defensive posture, needing to be perfectly positioned to save an ally with Hoof Stomp or Stampede. Legion Commander, on the other hand, gets to be the aggressor. She and her team can set up vision and smoke ganks looking for any small opening. If Stampede is on cooldown or if an ally strays too far, Legion Commander can often secure the kill she needs. The pressure is on Centaur's team to play flawlessly, giving Legion Commander a small but constant edge.
