Centaur Warrunner vs Mirana

How this matchup plays

Pinning down a good Mirana is often the main challenge for Centaur Warrunner. Her ability to reposition with Leap makes her a slippery target, allowing her to dodge Hoof Stomp or create distance after Centaur initiates. This forces him to burn his ultimate just to close the gap on a single hero. Mirana can also turn the tables with a well-aimed Sacred Arrow; catching the bulky Centaur out of position is relatively easy, and a long stun can take him out of a fight before he can contribute. She generally gets to control the engagement distance, which is a major problem for a melee initiator.

The matchup often hinges on who gets the jump. A Centaur with a Blink Dagger can instantly get on top of Mirana, giving her little time to react before she is stunned and bursted down. Stampede serves a similar purpose, letting Centaur and his allies run her down even if she Leaps away. This creates a cat-and-mouse game across the map. If Mirana's team provides vision and saves, she can kite and poke safely. If Centaur's team helps him find his target, her mobility advantage disappears quickly.
