Centaur Warrunner vs Muerta

How this matchup plays

Feeling safe inside Pierce the Veil is tough when a Centaur Warrunner is in the game. His Hoof Stomp locks Muerta down even when she's ethereal, preventing her from attacking or repositioning. More importantly, a follow-up Double Edge cuts right through her physical immunity, dealing a significant chunk of damage that she expects her ultimate to prevent. This forces her to rely entirely on items or teammate saves to survive an initiation she would normally feel protected during, making her signature ability a much riskier button to press.

This dynamic really comes online once Centaur gets his Blink Dagger. Before that, Muerta can easily kite him and stay at a safe distance. Afterwards, she’s constantly under threat of being jumped and burst down before her ultimate's damage can turn the fight. A good Muerta will position herself far behind her team and hold onto her fear to push him away, but Centaur’s goal is simple: find her, stomp her, and force a reaction. It puts the pressure on her to anticipate his every move, giving his team a slight but constant initiative.
