Centaur Warrunner vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Jumping on a support should be an easy kill, but Ogre Magi often survives the initial Blink and Hoof Stomp from a Centaur Warrunner. Ogre is naturally tanky enough to withstand the opening burst, and he can immediately answer with a reliable Fireblast. This single-target stun is all it takes to interrupt Centaur’s rhythm and stop him from following up with his damage. The constant slow from Ignite also makes it difficult for Centaur to stick to his preferred target, allowing them to kite him after his initiation spells are on cooldown.

This pattern makes Centaur’s life difficult from the very start of the game, as Ogre Magi can trade hits and harass effectively in lane. Later on, Centaur is forced into a tough choice: either initiate on Ogre and hope to absorb his spells, or attempt a riskier play on a backliner that Ogre is positioned to protect. A well-timed Stampede can help Centaur’s team find a better target, but Ogre’s job is simply to be a durable roadblock. He doesn’t need to kill Centaur; he only needs to stop him for a moment to spoil the whole fight.
