Centaur Warrunner vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Trying to initiate a teamfight as Centaur Warrunner feels uncomfortable against a Silencer. Centaur's entire game plan revolves around using Stampede to get in close, landing a crucial Hoof Stomp, and then using his other spells. Silencer’s abilities directly challenge this sequence. Last Word can prevent the stomp from ever happening, while Arcane Curse punishes Centaur and his allies for casting spells during the engagement. The most significant threat is Global Silence. It can completely neutralize a Stampede initiation from anywhere on the map, leaving Centaur's team scattered and their momentum gone.

This forces the Centaur player to be more deliberate. The standard "press R and go" approach becomes much riskier. He must either wait for Global Silence to be used on someone else or get a Blink Dagger to jump directly onto Silencer to eliminate him before he can react. If Centaur can successfully isolate and kill Silencer at the start of a fight, the threat is removed. However, a well-positioned Silencer who saves his ultimate for Stampede can consistently turn Centaur's best moments into losing fights, giving him a slight edge in the matchup.
