Chaos Knight vs Death Prophet

How this matchup plays

Casting Exorcism into a Phantasm is a losing trade for Death Prophet. Her ghosts will spread their damage across all of Chaos Knight's illusions, barely scratching them, while his illusions are free to focus down a single target. Reality Rift pulls her right into the middle of his army, and a Chaos Bolt stun holds her there. Her damage is spread out over time and across an area, while all of his is immediate, physical, and concentrated on one hero. This mismatch means she can rarely fight him head-on, even with her ultimate active.

This dynamic forces Death Prophet to play from the back line, which is not where she wants to be. Chaos Knight is always looking for an isolated target before a fight breaks out, and DP is an easy one. If he can get his stun-and-pull combo on her, she's often dead before her team can react or before Exorcism can have an impact. Her main defense is buying items like a Ghost Scepter to survive his initial assault, but this requires her to play reactively and can delay the items she needs to be a threat herself.
