Chaos Knight vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Heartstopper Aura constantly damages Chaos Knight and his illusions, making them easy to clear and exposing the real hero much faster. When Chaos Knight does close the gap with Reality Rift, Necrophos can use Ghost Shroud to become immune to physical attacks, completely wasting CK’s burst window. This buys crucial time for Necrophos to heal himself with Death Pulse or for his allies to arrive. The fundamental tools Chaos Knight relies on for single-target burst are directly neutralized by the core abilities of Necrophos.

This dynamic means Chaos Knight struggles to execute his game plan. His Phantasm pushes feel weak because the illusions simply don't last long enough to do their job. In fights, Necrophos can steadily wear down the real CK's high health from a distance. Once Chaos Knight is low enough, Reaper's Scythe is a guaranteed kill that cuts through the confusion of his illusions and any defensive items short of a perfectly timed Black King Bar. Chaos Knight has to land a surprise jump and burst Necrophos instantly, while Necrophos often wins by playing his normal game.
