Drafting one of these heroes into the other is a calculated risk, as they challenge each other’s core strengths. Night Stalker lives to hunt and isolate single targets, using Crippling Fear to prevent escapes or spellcasting. This plan falls apart against Chaos Knight, whose Phantasm instantly turns a one-on-one into a chaotic brawl. While Night Stalker's silence can stop a Chaos Bolt, it does nothing to the illusions already hitting him. He lacks an inherent way to clear them quickly, forcing him to either try and man-fight the army or flee. This creates a standoff where neither hero has a clean way to win a direct fight.

The matchup often comes down to timing and who gets the jump. During the first night, Night Stalker has a clear window to pressure Chaos Knight before Phantasm is available. Once that ultimate is online, the dynamic flips. Night Stalker is forced to play around its cooldown, looking for picks on Chaos Knight’s allies or catching him without his illusions. Chaos Knight’s win condition becomes forcing fights where he can pop Phantasm and overwhelm Night Stalker before he can disengage.
