Chaos Knight vs Riki

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target inside Riki's Smoke Screen is a problem for Chaos Knight. The silence and miss chance from the smoke can completely negate his Reality Rift combo, leaving him stuck and unable to fight back effectively. On the other hand, Chaos Knight presents a similar puzzle for Riki. Once Phantasm is active, Riki has no quick way to clear the illusions and find the real hero. If Riki gets pulled by Reality Rift and can't use his smoke, he’s suddenly surrounded by strong illusions and has to make a life-or-death guess, which often doesn't end well for him.

The matchup becomes a game of cooldowns and who gets to initiate on their own terms. Riki wants to use his invisibility to find Chaos Knight alone, drop Smoke Screen, and secure a kill before Phantasm can even be cast. Chaos Knight plays around this by trying to bait out the smoke or waiting for Riki to commit to a different target. If CK can get his illusions out before Riki can react, the fight turns completely. This back-and-forth means neither hero has a truly reliable advantage over the other.
