Chaos Knight vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Wraith King as Chaos Knight is a frustrating experience. Chaos Knight relies on Phantasm to overwhelm and quickly kill one hero. The core problem is Reincarnation, which means Wraith King has to be killed twice. Committing a long cooldown ultimate to kill him the first time leaves Chaos Knight with no resources when Wraith King stands back up, often turning the fight completely. Even setting up the initial kill can be difficult, as Wraith King’s summoned skeletons can body block and make it hard for Chaos Knight to land a clean Reality Rift on his intended target.

This dynamic defines mid-game teamfights. Chaos Knight is forced to either use all his damage on a target that will not stay dead, or try to navigate around a durable frontliner to reach the back lines. Wraith King's typical item choices, like a common Blade Mail, further punish this by reflecting Phantasm's physical damage back onto the illusions and Chaos Knight himself. To succeed, Chaos Knight has to avoid Wraith King entirely and hope his own team can control him, which is rarely a reliable plan and forces CK into awkward fights.
