Crystal Maiden vs Kez

How this matchup plays

Kez's plan to isolate and duel a target falls apart against basic control. Crystal Maiden's entire kit is designed to stop melee heroes from ever reaching her or her allies. A single parry from Kez can't handle the combination of Crystal Nova's area slow followed by a long Frostbite root. He is built to be nimble and win a one-on-one fight, but she never lets that fight happen on his terms. He either gets kited from a distance or locked down completely, unable to swap stances or build up any momentum. She fundamentally breaks his ability to engage.

This dynamic defines the whole game. During the laning phase, Crystal Maiden can constantly harass Kez, making it difficult for him to secure farm. Later on, teamfights become incredibly frustrating for him. Trying to dive the back line to kill her is often a suicide mission, as he'll be instantly disabled for her team to collapse on him. His only real option is to buy a Black King Bar very early, which delays his core damage items and still might not be enough to secure a kill before she can get away or her team can peel.
