How this matchup plays

Getting rooted by Frostbite is often a death sentence for a hero as fragile as Lina. She has no natural escape mechanism, so a long-duration, point-and-click lockdown from Crystal Maiden leaves her completely exposed to follow-up damage. While Lina has a stun of her own with Light Strike Array, it’s a delayed skillshot that’s much less reliable for self-preservation. Frostbite simply shuts down Lina's entire game plan of using her passive speed to find an angle, unload her spells, and get out. Instead, she gets stuck and dies.

This dynamic defines the matchup from the start. Throughout the laning stage and into the mid-game, Lina has to play with extreme caution, knowing that a single misstep allows Crystal Maiden to set up an easy kill. For Lina to have an impact, she’s forced to either rush a Black King Bar or play from the fog of war, hoping to burst CM before she can react. Crystal Maiden's goal is straightforward: stay positioned safely enough to cast spells, and use Frostbite on Lina whenever she appears in a fight.
