Crystal Maiden vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Playing as Weaver against a Crystal Maiden feels incredibly restrictive. Your main escape and repositioning tool, Shukuchi, is completely disabled by her Frostbite. A single root is often a death sentence for a fragile hero like Weaver because the lockdown is targeted and instant, leaving no room for error. Even if you manage to avoid the root, Crystal Nova's wide-reaching slow makes it difficult to build up speed and get away. Her entire kit seems designed to punish your core strengths of mobility and elusiveness.

This pressure starts in the lane, where Crystal Maiden can easily set up kills on Weaver, forcing him to play passively and miss farm. Later on, he can't split-push or hunt for solo pickoffs safely, as CM can appear from the fog and lock him down. Teamfights are a constant threat; he has to worry about her targeted control before he can get into position to do damage. Weaver's best hope is to get a Black King Bar quickly, but until then, he must treat Crystal Maiden as a primary threat at all stages of the game.
