Dark Willow vs Dawnbreaker

How this matchup plays

Trying to control a fight as Dark Willow feels a bit tougher against a Dawnbreaker. Her typical burst and lockdown combo relies on the target being fragile enough to die or get chain-stunned. Dawnbreaker, however, is naturally durable and can often muscle through a Bramble Maze or Cursed Crown setup. She can use Starbreaker to stay on top of Willow and close distance, forcing an early Shadow Realm for defensive purposes. This disrupts Willow's preferred rhythm and prevents her from dictating the engagement from the edges of the fight.

Throughout the game, this means Dawnbreaker can apply pressure wherever Dark Willow is trying to set up plays. A Solar Guardian arriving during a gank can quickly turn the tables, leaving Willow exposed and out of position. To compensate, Willow has to play further back and be more patient, waiting for Dawnbreaker to commit her spells before using her own control. Good use of Terrorize can still reset a bad engagement, and with team follow-up, she can punish a Dawnbreaker who gets too aggressive. It's more a test of positioning than a direct counter.
