Dark Willow vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Committing a full spell combo on a hero who doesn't die is a big problem for Dark Willow, and Ogre Magi often has the raw health to be that hero. He can frequently survive her initial burst from Cursed Crown and Bramble Maze, leaving her with long cooldowns. While she's vulnerable, he can respond with Ignite and a Fireblast. This often forces Dark Willow to use Shadow Realm defensively to dodge the stun or wait out the damage, instead of using it to set up kills. It creates an inefficient trade where her burst is soaked and she's left retreating.

This pattern makes mid-game teamfights awkward for Dark Willow. Ogre Magi can comfortably stand in front of his team, absorbing her initiation and making it hard for her to reach the fragile backline she prefers to target. He doesn't necessarily kill her on his own, but his presence alone forces her to reconsider her positioning and spell usage. The pressure is on the Dark Willow player to outmaneuver him and find a window to attack his allies, while the Ogre is free to walk forward and apply his own stuns and slows.
