Dark Willow vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Surviving Pangolier's aggression is the main challenge for Dark Willow, but she has all the answers she needs. Pangolier can close the distance with Swashbuckle and tank her initial burst with Shield Crash, putting him in a great spot to kill her. The matchup turns on Willow's own control spells, though. A well-placed Bramble Maze can stop his momentum entirely. More importantly, Cursed Crown is one of the best tools for stopping Rolling Thunder; a correctly timed cast will stun him right out of his ultimate. Shadow Realm also lets her dodge his initial engage and buy time for a counterattack.

This dynamic makes teamfights incredibly tense. A successful flank from Pangolier can delete Dark Willow before she contributes anything. Conversely, a patient Dark Willow who anticipates the roll can completely disable him, often winning the fight for her team on the spot. Because the outcome of their duel so often relies on timing and execution from both players, neither hero has a built-in advantage. The game frequently comes down to which of these two lands their critical spell first.
